What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

cave

I hate the dark. Well, I should clarify. I LOVE the dark-I HATE it when the HOUSE is dark in the middle of the day. Throw open those shutters, pull up those blinds, let the open windows' breezes float the curtains about, and let the sunshine pour in!

Personally, a bright and naturally lit house makes for a better disposition. I would happily live in a house with all white or buttercup yellow walls.

The hottest days of summer, however, forced me to shut everything in and hoard our houses coolness for as long as it would stay. I hated it. And you know what, it REALLY didn't make that much of a difference. I was still sweating like a pig and unhappy as a hornet.

It was cute though, when Corynn said "Mama! We are like bears in a cave!"

It made me smile.

For a second, anyway.

I'm with you. I hate the heat. I'm tired of it. I also hate having the house closed up in the daytime. I follow the sun's rising and setting by opening and closing the blinds that are NOT facing the sun. I'm SO ready for fall!

I can relate to having the home all dark during these HOT days!

May we both get a little sun shining in with the upcoming FALL -- my favorite season!
