What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

Berrylicious

I had to post a few pictures of my recent strawberry endeavors. I will be updating and doing a switcheroo to my sidebar soon-when I gather enough courage to do something new. In the meantime, because you are all DYING to know what I did with all those strawberries...I will list them here.

10 jars of Strawberry Lemon Marmalade
4 jars strawberry rhubarb compote
7 jars strawberry freezer jam
8 jars Strawberry Pineapple freezer jam

Of course, we have had summer strawberry chicken salad and strawberies to snack on too. Oh-and a strawberry shake was in order. Unfortunately, I didn't have any ice cream in the house. So~I fudged it and it turned out REALLY well, I think. I used heavy whipping cream in place of the icecream. So refreshing!

Oh-and guess what ELSE I made with it? My very own, never tried before, homemade Strawberry Sorbet! I haven't tasted it yet, kinda waiting for a special occasion. I have two entirely different recipes to make sorbet. I will be making BOTH of them and deciding which I like better. One is with a fruit juice base, the other a buttermilk base. We shall see!

Now, I am off to do a bit of stitching. Bandana play aprons, pillowcase nighties, all sorts of goodies just itching to be made! ;-)

Sounds like an absolutely yummy day! ;) I just love strawberries. My hubby is begging for another strawberry pie, so I need to figure out a way to do the pie crust so he can eat it. lol!!

Want.

That.

SHAKE!

We haven't been picking yet this year, and seeing your pictures of strawberry goodness snuff out my patience.

I've made lemon sorbet, but never strawberry. I wonder how lemony strawberry sorbet would taste?

It snuffs out my patience. I don't indulge in snuff, myself.

(And now I've gone and clogged up your comments board again. Forgive me.)

Summer Strawberry Chicken Salad? Do you have a recipe for that, in your other blog? I've never heard of it but it sounds deeeeeeeelicious.

And you really are trying to do something new, on your blog? I guess I didn't really think you meant that... for real.
