What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

Eats, Shoots, and Leaves

Yesterday, the Panda had to get some more shots. Not a fun time. He is too young yet to appreciate the cool bandaids they give (come to think of it, Corynn must have skipped that milestone...) and too old to just lie there and take it. All in all, though, he did well. Especially when the lollipops came out.

Afterward~we headed to 'our' picnic spot under 'our' tree at 'our' park for some 'outside time'. This is my problem. When the weather is as gorgeous as it is...it is TERRIBLY difficult to stay inside!

Contrary to what it seems from this weeks' deluge of photos, I AM managing to get done a *few* things within these four walls-though admittedly, not so much on the cleaning spectrum. Yesterday I finished up the 16 pounds of strawberries we had picked. And I did so-not even starting my wine! (I often go GUNGHO into a project without understanding all the repercussions...needless to say, I found out that I must have a few certain wine-making supplies before doing the strawberries. HOPEFULLY, I can get at them before strawberry season is up!)

I will be updating the sidebar and posting some pictures soon. Meanwhile, our fingers are red with another kind of juice recently aquired from the amish roadside stand. CHERRIES!

Delicious!

Between gulps, today I will tackle this house. Or atleast part of it.

MMM, I did stawberries a few weeks ago- Strawberry jam, Spiced Strawberry jam, and Strawberry Rhubabrb jam. They all came to a total of 6 qts. of jam, and I nearly choked when I realized there's about 10lbs. of sugar in all that!
I've got cherries in the freezer for cherry jam and blueberry- cherry jam, whenever I get around to it.

Mmmmmmmmmm~they sound DELICIOUS Mrs. Bonnie! I know just what you mean about the sugar bit. Whenever I make jam, I ALWAYS make it with eyes half shut and I most often take out an extra cup of sugar just because I can't bear to do it. I would use honey but it is so much more expensive! I would LOVE for you to share your blueberry cherry jam recipe, if you don't MIND, that is! That sounds DELICIOUS!

I've so been wanting some cherries. I've been trying to find a place around here to go berry picking. Yum!

Rebecca, you can get your JoAnn teachers discount card online. As a homeschooler, you'll need to get a homeschool "number" in order to be able to sign up, but there are instructions on how to do that at the site. It's a 10% discount which is great! Hope that helps.
