What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

Not quite ordinary

I figured today ought to be a picnic day. Lots of construction worker guys milling about the house-and I have been stuck inside not feeling well and working hard getting prepared for my upcoming yardsale. I deserved a break. But it had to be short (lots more work to be done) and it had to be different. For some reason, the regular park and playground, while I love it, just wasn't cutting it today.

Today called for an adventure. I ended up finding this secluded spot underneath the railroad tracks where we dined on Apple butter sandwiches atop a fallen log.

No swings, no slides, no other children...

But plenty of opportunity to 'walk the plank', throw stones,

AND discover our first water snake!

Boy, could he zoom in that water!

Looks like lots of fun, I wish there were more places around us for fun outings. There is one state park not to far away, and I met my mom and siblings there last week for lunch, but there is not a whole lot of good exploring. Maybe we'll take lunch and go down to the marina their and watch boats.

I had to laugh at your hotdog bun sandwiches, I do those too when ever we have leftover buns.
They are also good spread with butter, sprinkled with cinnamon sugar, and broiled 'till toasted. Nice sugary breakfast, and would be delightful with HI-C ;0P
