What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

Two is a good number

Two people this week have reached out to me, wondering at the silence on my blog and whether or not I am doing alright.

Do you know what that means?

First, it means I ought to blog.

it means that I still have TWO blog readers!  Which I truly did not expect. I have felt pretty confident that everyone had long since ditched this tired old blog for the other new and sparkly things to do in Internetland.  So thank you, Els and Rebecca!

It was just the gentle nudge I needed.

Where have the last two months gone?

To putting in gardens.
To wedding photography.
To hosting an open house in honor of my parents.
To (lots of) cookie making.
To contra dancing.
To Massachusetts.
To meeting Corynn's beau.
To hosting old friends.
To meeting new friends.
To the Great Spring clothing Switchover.
To rabies shots and ER visits.
To creek walking and lake swimming and hill wogs.  (That would be my measly walk/jog)
To saying no to lots of good foods.
To worry and prayer, for others and myself.
To turning 40!
To teenage schedules and toddler whims.
To reading by camp light.
To potty training a boy that doesn't want to be potty trained.
To school objectives and portfolios and affidavits.

Three major deadlines have been looming large over my head but were met this week and I feel like I can finally breathe a sigh of relief.

Maybe I can think of something else again...
like blogging!

In the meantime, for those few who still come to visit me here~

a few lilac photos for you, with a promise of more posts to come soon.

Thank you for caring.

Make that at least three readers! Thanks for the update, I'm glad things are going well. A beau for Corynn--how exciting! The lilacs are gorgeous, my mother's favorite. Although mine is about as tall as me, it hasn't bloomed like I expected, maybe half dozen. I had hoped that after four years it would be more prolific.

Moses is getting big too! I've been going through photos of our youngest for his wedding slide show. Oh such sweet memories and lots of laughter and tears. They do grow up so fast.

Rebecca, this is most coincidental...... this morning I decided to send you a message asking if everything was ok???? I check most every day if there is an update and I thought for sure something bad had happened. So happy to see everything is fine!! Keep up that blogging . I have followed you for many years.

Oh yes- many kindred spirits care! Some of us even prefer blogs to all of the new things out there. They seem more letter like. The only problem with this kind of thing is that when you find a friend who you think would be a lovely real life friend, you aren't sure how to make it happen. I'm glad you are busy living life well.

Yay! I know it's a busy time of year and just figured you'd be back sooner or later. I was hoping and praying that was it and not anything bad.
Love the lilacs! : )

This is one of my favorite blogs. I love all of your content as it aligns with my own ideals. Thank you for finding the time now and then to inspire all of us to continue on our own journey as creatively as you do.
Reading from our small farm in NH. Blessings!

Add me to the list of “friends who kept checking to see if Rebecca has posted”. Erin and I both kept checking. I was so close to writing or trying to find your email! So good to hear from you. Looks like life has been busy but good. The lilacs are gorgeous. I hope you’ll do more gardening posts this year (hint, hint). I LOVED when you would post pictures of your gardening, produce and canning. So inspiring. PS. I look forward to hearing about Corynn’s beau!!! Can’t wait! ;) Love, Monica

Millie and the Owen Household are stalwart fans, too, as you well know!

A couple of weeks ago, Millie complained to me that you hadn't posted in two whole months! When I pointed out that my blogging lapse is far more egregious, she said with a flounce, "Well, that's you! You don't count."

Offensive! (But, sadly, true.)

So glad to see you back at it! As your full life continues spilling over, maybe you can find a few spaces in which to blog from time to time, especially now that you know you have more than two measly readers. (For Pete's sake, ANYONE could have told you that, silly girl!) ;)

Hi Rebecca, I don’t think I’ve ever commented but I have also been following your blog for about 5 years and have checking weekly to see if there were any updates, but being a mom of 5 I totally understand how you’d have other priorities above blogging.
Glad you’re back, I love all your photos and updates! Bless you- Bethany
