What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

Harvest Party

This weekend. At the home of our good friends, who just announced they are expecting their 11th!!! Wa-HOO!!!!! I always love this party (all two years we've been to it!) I just love being around their family, and the rest of our church family. It's so much fun.

It was ESPECIALLY fun this year, because all Matt's HARD WORK building and refurbishing this old press into an apple press has paid off-and he got to initiate the thing this weekend!

You can probably tell the things he made. The bottom round (with the holes for the juice to pour out), the top round-with a support for the pressing, and the most difficult~the basket...made from slats of wood. Of course. My detailing is not very good. If you have checked HIS blog at all, you know more about it. The point is~it is finished. It was used. and It worked!!! :-)

My guy~he sure is handy!

Freshly squeezed apple cider!

It was a hit. Everyone wanted to help out and try it out. Now-we just need to get a few more bushels so Matt can make US a supply of cider...AND, HARD Cider.
