When I woke up this morning, I looked out the window to see how much snow had fallen and wondered why I couldn't see anything... when it became light enough, I figured it out...
Moses had enough snow to play with on the porch.
He would not have gotten very far in the yard...he would have been buried alive in snow.
The yardstick almost was.
33 inches of beautiful snow.
I'm thankful that Matt was able to come home early enough yesterday not to be caught in the worst of it.
That we have a tractor to plow the driveway.
That the electricity never went out.
That we are warm and toasty in our house.
That Matt didn't have to leave early this morning on a road that wasn't even plowed until nearly lunchtime.
That hot cocoa and biscuits and sausage gravy was a celebratory breakfast.
Wondering, though, why boys think it is cool to go outside with nothing but wrapped up plastic bags on their feet in 17 degree weather? Who does that?! And then- why are they surprised when they can no longer feel their toes? One of life's great mysteries, right there.
Snow days are cozy days when everyone is home together.

Oh wow! Y'all got a lot! We woke up to a few inches and it was beautiful. My daughter works about 35 minutes away. She had to drive home when the roads were pretty nasty. It's a new thing for me....worrying about my children driving home! She made it safe and sound though. She had stories of accidents and cars sliding off the road. �� Can't we just keep them in a bubble forever!
I happen to not be a huge fan of snow. Haha! I'm glad that NC doesn't get too much snow. We got a few flakes one day, but that's it.
Hey, at least they were using plastic bags this time! The children do the same on this hill, and I always think, "Well, at least their feet are covered this time." Plus, plastic slides better than bare feet do. :)
