What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

Tree Trimming and St. Nicholas

Tree Trimming Party time!

The night in which we eat only with our fingers and only rich foods we never eat shrouded in colored lights.

Our first eggnog of the season always comes with a toast.

Moses was wondering why Papa was putting a tree in our living room.

Here he is, being all inquisitive.

Oh wait.

Nope- he is just a little thief.

Trees can be anywhere at all, so long as the cool hats are on his head.

I am out of practice with Christmas light pictures- but apparently, everyone wanted them this year any how.  Maybe I'll snap a good one when we are packing it all away.

This tree was the most brutal, viscous tree we've ever had.  My arms were actually BLEEDING after putting the lights on.

Putting on ornaments were only for those with nerves of steel.

The lights of the season came to our house just in time to light the way for St. Nicholas.

Happy Advent!

You are such a good mama to make a party out of tree trimming - I'm just lucky to get mine up and the house decorated let alone making treats and goodies to enjoy while doing everything else!

When we woke up on Sunday morning, Susannah came to me and whispered, "I just looked at your calendar, and today is St. NJcholas Day." With all the flurry of Deborah's baby shower, I had totally forgotten! So Saint Nicholas came a wee bit late to our house this year. Maybe he just lingered at your place for a while until he traveled here...? :)

You tree looks lovely! And yum to the feast!
If I'd been him, I would have lingered, too!
