What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

Green(peas) in the garden

This is the first year I have ever planted peas. They are planted early, as soon as the ground can be worked, and I always FORGOT until it was too late. But not THIS year.

We've been eating snap peas and snow peas in their pods often at dinner, but the little marvel garden peas get plucked and eaten right in the garden and never even make it to the house.

Yesterday, Andrew declared he was camping out in the garden and looked more than a bit sheepish when I asked him if peas had been his main provision.

Have you ever tasted raw, sweet peas? Oh my.

Every single time I bring a colander-full from the garden, I find myself singing this song, a favorite:

My absolute favorite thing to snack on straight out of the garden, and also the only reason I plant them.

A favorite song of mine too, and so true!

Oh my! The Homestead Blessings ladies sing and play instruments too! Is there anything they can't do?? :) (I only have 1 of their DVDs, so I don't really know anything about them, but they sure look like a sweet family.)

This song is a favorite of our family as well! :) I find myself, too, singing it when bringing in a harvest of green beans to can! ;)
